Six new masters from Weilheim-Schongau: craftsmanship has a future!

The Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria held a ceremonial handover of the master's certificates on August 10, 2025 in the master schools at the Ostbahnhof in Munich. A total of 324 young masters from various areas were honored in a festive setting, including six talented graduates from the Weilheim-Schongau district. These young craftsmen represent the future leadership of crafts in Bavaria.

The newly minted masters are made up of five electrical engineers and one metal worker. They come from different places in the region:

  • Christian Holl (Metallbauer, Peißenberg)
  • Christian Lutz (Elektrotechniker, Weilheim)
  • Andreas Hammerl (Elektrotechniker, Bernried)
  • Gusev Dmitri (Elektrotechniker, Schongau)
  • Andreas Klimmer (Elektrotechniker, Huglfing)
  • Stefan Lautenbacher (Elektrotechniker, Eberfing)

The meaning of the championship title

As the President of the Chamber of Crafts, Franz Xaver Peteranderl, emphasizes, these graduates have not only acquired extensive theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills that qualify them to become managers, entrepreneurs and trainers. In many trades, the master's degree is a basic requirement for setting up and managing your own business, but it also offers advantages in trades that do not require a permit. For example, it increases the prestige of the work and opens up opportunities for further academic qualifications.

The master's examination is divided into four independent parts, which can be taken in any order. These parts include practical exams, the evaluation of theoretical knowledge as well as business and legal training. A deep understanding of these areas is of central importance in order to be able to operate successfully in the craft sector. Recognized intensive courses are available for preparation, which provide practical preparation for the challenges of the exams. In his speech, school spokesman Leonhard Maxl called on the young masters to live up to their responsibilities and be role models in their professions. Acquiring a master craftsman’s certificate is more than just an academic title – it is the start of a promising future.
