Taffertshofer: The new face for the district office in 2026!

In an exciting development for the 2026 district election, the Citizens for the District (BfL) voter community has nominated Wolfgang Taffertshofer from Obersöchering as their candidate. Taffertshofer will take the place of Andrea Jochner-Weiß (CSU), who has announced that she will no longer run in the upcoming election. At 61, Taffertshofer brings a wealth of experience to the election campaign arena, as he is not only the incumbent deputy district administrator, but also a member of the Weilheim-Schongau district council for 29 years.

The Obersöcheringer native is a man of action. He has been active as a local councilor for the past 18 years and currently sits on the district committee and the subcommittee for youth welfare planning. Taffertshofer has a good knack for local political processes and wants to increasingly address the region's challenges in the future. These include housing, regional economy, mobility and climate protection – topics that will certainly be very popular with voters.

Experiences and goals

The BfL is sure that it has found a candidate in Taffertshofer who not only has economic know-how, but also an open ear for his fellow human beings. In his CV so far, Taffertshofer has worked in organic farming for over 38 years. He would like to incorporate this experience positively into his political work. He attaches particular importance to intergenerational housing and living arrangements as well as the urgently needed new vocational school in the district.

“We see great potential in the region and want to use it,” says Taffertshofer, who also welcomes the regional management to bring EU funding to Weilheim. However, he also expresses criticism, particularly with regard to the hospital GmbH's high deficit and the insufficient information for the district councilors about the future of the Peißenberg hospital. He also spoke out clearly in favor of reviving the Fuchstalbahn and improved transport connections.

Family and local connections

Family man Taffertshofer lives with his large family in Obersöchering, where his eldest son will take over the family farm during the election campaign. The BfL has announced the official nomination of its candidate for December 1st in Peißenberg, which marks the start of an exciting election campaign.

The voting community is also committed to sustainable forms of energy and would like to promote the use of wind, water, biogas, photovoltaics and geothermal energy. “We must do everything we can to take advantage of the opportunities offered by renewable energies,” adds Taffertshofer, demonstrating his clear focus on future-oriented politics.

The next district election will be crucial for the citizens of the Weilheim-Schongau district. It only remains to be seen how Taffertshofer and the BfL can put their visions into practice in the coming months. Those interested can find further information about the electoral procedures in Bavaria on the official website of the State Ministry for the Interior, Sport and Integration, where the basic processes of local elections are explained: Stmi Bayern.

Taffertshofer will certainly have a lot to say about the election campaign and his nomination. With his broad experience and commitment, he could certainly convince voters in the district that a breath of fresh air needs to come into local politics.
