Jürgen conjures up BBQ dreams at the perfect dinner in Würzburg!

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, a very special dinner was served as part of “The Perfect Dinner” Würzburg Week. Host Jürgen, a 54-year-old technical employee from Güntersleben and operator of a hairdressing salon, united two culinary worlds under the motto “Dolce Vita meets BBQ love”. He was supported by his friend Michael, who assisted him as a sniper and at the same time works as a tax advisor. The aim of the evening was not just to win, but above all to give his guests a good time and to convince them.

Jürgen's menu clearly focused on American barbecue with Mediterranean influences. The starter – oven-fresh pizza pockets filled with burrata, limoncello ham and cantaloupe – was already very well received. Smaller Mediterranean side dishes rounded off the dish perfectly. For the main course, Jürgen chose tenderly cooked meat, which was lovingly served with numerous side dishes such as potatoes, carrots, coleslaw and various homemade dips. The crowning finale was an original dessert entitled “Tropical Flirt with Fire & Ice”, consisting of pineapple, piña colada elements, lime and basil.

A barbecue evening in a class of its own

The host proved to be a real grill master: the “Boston Butt” shoulder was used for the “pulled pork” and tender “sparer ribs” during the preparation. To make sure everything was cooked perfectly, Jürgen checked the grill and oven temperatures with an infrared measuring device. During the evening, Nick, one of the contestants, expressed his reservations about the dessert as he doesn't like spiciness. But this skepticism quickly disappeared a little later when Bianca, who was also celebrating her birthday that day, praised the “pulled pork” as “juicy, tasty, great cinema”.

At the end of the evening, Jürgen was at the top of the points standings. With a total of 36 points and a top score from Nick, who was happy with 35 points, his culinary creations topped the rankings. Florian also said that the meat seemed a bit dry to him, but that didn't dampen the overall positive response.

The trend around barbecue and grilling is currently very popular. There are numerous barbecue trade fairs on the program in the coming months that will delight barbecue fans. For example, the FIRE&FOOD BBQ WEEK will take place in Cologne from September 5th to 7th, 2025. There will also be the Baden-Württemberg State Grill Championship in Freiburg in March 2025. Such events show how much barbecue culture has grown in recent years and has taken a permanent place in the culinary scene.

The “Perfect Dinner” with Jürgen once again proved that good food can also arouse emotions and should be served in a wonderful setting. We are excited about the upcoming episodes and the creative menus that will continue to surprise us!
