The course of the game
The game started promisingly for Jena, which was able to pull away with an early lead of nine points. They led 41-38 at halftime. However, the Würzburg team found their way back into the game and showed fighting spirit, which was ultimately rewarded.

After 40 minutes the score was 84:84, which led to two overtime periods in which the Baskets ultimately had the better end. Other players contributed to the win: Davion Mintz recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Charles Thompson delivered a strong performance with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Lukas Herzog, who was surprisingly called into the starting lineup, was also a pillar of the defense and received a lot of praise for it.
However, the Baskets also have to contend with injury problems. Alen Pjanic is currently battling a hand injury and Brae Ivey is out with an abdominal muscle injury. However, these personnel challenges could not stop the team.
