About the price
For 2025, people or organizations that have particularly distinguished themselves in animal protection will be honored. These include, among other things, volunteers who take care of the rescue, care or protection of animals or who strengthen public relations for animal protection. An example of the diverse activities is the work in animal shelters, the protection of free-living, homeless animals or the commitment to better treatment of animals by people. Initiatives to improve animal welfare also fall within this framework.
The Bremen Animal Welfare Advisory Board, represented by Philipp Bruck from the Green Party, supports the re-awarding of the prize and appeals to all potential prize winners to take advantage of the opportunity. In order to take part, applicants must have their place of residence or headquarters in Bremen or Bremerhaven.

The last time the Bremen Animal Welfare Prize was awarded was in 2009, when inspiring projects such as support in the juvenile justice system and various animal welfare initiatives were honored. This year also shows that animal protection is very important in Bremen.
As already mentioned, many other animal protection organizations are involved in Germany, for example through the German Animal Welfare Association e.V. or FOUR PAWS be supported. These organizations create an important platform for animal protection, which also benefits the participants of the Bremen Animal Welfare Prize.
So let's be excited to see which organizations and individuals will ultimately receive recognition for their important work in animal welfare! The Bremen Animal Welfare Prize is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the commitment of these people and to thank them for their tireless efforts.
