A major event is just around the corner: the “Sail 2025” in Bremerhaven attracts with maritime flair and a varied program. From August 13th to 17th, the coastal town will be the scene of highlights that will attract both locals and tourists. With around 1.2 million visitors expected, it's no wonder that anticipation is in the air.

The event officially begins on Wednesday, August 13th at 11am. There are numerous attractions on offer on this day. Visitors can look forward to the opening ceremony, at which Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also be present. The entry parade starts at 11 a.m. and will feature around 250 ships, led by the “Alexander von Humboldt II”. This impressive parade promises an unforgettable picture and runs along the Wurster Arm until 3 p.m.

Diverse program and highlights

With open banks and the smell of fresh fish, guests can admire the ships and experience the maritime days up close. On Friday, August 15th, there will be a sailing parade at 4 p.m. that will last approximately 90 minutes. On Saturday evening, the fireworks will pop off the Weserdeich at 11 p.m., accompanied by a spectacular drone light show that will further spice up the event.

Special musical highlights are also in the air. Irish star guest Ronan Keating will give a concert on Willy-Brandt-Platz on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. You need to purchase a ticket to take part, but the event promises top-class entertainment.

In addition to the “Sail 2025”, the “Maritime Days” are taking place in Bremerhaven, which invite you to take a colorful stroll around the quays. Around 80 sailing, motor and steam ships are presented here, and the Open Ship offers most visitors free access to the ships. Music, snack stands and a children's area round off the offering. The highlight of the maritime festival is also the fireworks display on Saturday evening.
