The Gardens Flea Market, a popular event in Hamburg Langenhorn, is just around the corner. Next Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Fritz Schumacher settlement will once again be the scene of a colorful hustle and bustle. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can discover a true bargain paradise in the historic settlement. Over 200 gardeners open their doors and the selection is impressive: bric-a-brac, antiques, clothing, books, plants and handmade products are waiting to be discovered. Organizers hope market-goers can not only buy, but also take home inspiration for their own gardens. It can be observed that the market, which has been taking place regularly for 12 years, is becoming increasingly popular. The settlement members – also known as “Börner” – have the opportunity to present their own treasures and crafts, while external providers are excluded, which gives the market its individual charm. When you visit the settlement you can also immerse yourself in history. Built in 1920, it is a listed ensemble and is considered the largest closed terraced and semi-detached house settlement of the 1920s in Hamburg. The planning of this extraordinary settlement came from Fritz Schumacher, an influential architect of the time. The charming setting of the flea market makes the trip particularly attractive for families and junk lovers.
Arrival and participation
However, the event has one small drawback: there are hardly any parking spaces in the settlement. It is therefore recommended to plan your journey by public transport, bicycle or a park and ride system. The nearest stop is Langenhorn Nord (U1), which is conveniently located nearby. For those who want to do more than just browse, registration is required to visit the market. This can be done either by email, by telephone on 040 78 06 43 58 or via a registration form.
