Attention classic car fans! Next weekend, September 20th and 21st, all lovers of historic trams can look forward to a very special event in Darmstadt. This weekend is called “Rail Day”, organized by HEAG Mobilo and the ARGE Historische HEAG-Vehicles. In the exhibition hall for historic trams at Marburger Straße 16, visitors can immerse themselves in the exciting history of trams and admire the lovingly restored vehicles from seven decades.
The doors to the exhibition hall open to guests from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Access is very straightforward, it's just a few steps from the “Messplatz” (line 4) or “Nordbahnhof” (line 8) stops. A real highlight is the simultaneous visit to the railway museum at the Kranichstein train station, which is also open on the same weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors have the opportunity to marvel not only at the trams, but also at large steam locomotives.
