There is never a quiet minute in the football world, and now all eyes are on two former Eintracht Frankfurt heroes: Luka Jović and Ante Rebić. Both players changed clubs on July 1, 2025 and have been without a club since then. This turnaround sheds light on the impressive but turbulent careers of the two strikers.
Luka Jović, who scored 31 goals in 66 games for Eintracht, enjoyed great success, particularly in the DFB Cup and the Europa League. His move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for a whopping 63 million euros was a big step for many, but he was unable to meet the high expectations in Spain. Jović himself admitted that when the move was made he cried and didn't necessarily want to go to Madrid. After a difficult time at the Bernabéu, he briefly returned to his old love Eintracht Frankfurt before seeking the challenge at Fiorentina. He was most recently active at AC Milan from 2023 to 2025, where he only scored four goals in 17 competitive games. The 27-year-old currently has a market value of 4.5 million euros and, according to suedwest24.de, can move for free.
Ante Rebić's career path
Ante Rebić, on the other hand, is no less impressive. Known for his performance in the 2018 DFB Cup final, where he scored two important goals against FC Bayern Munich, he was a key player in Frankfurt's period of success. However, he struggled with fluctuations in form after moving to AC Milan in 2019. Stations at Besiktas and US Lecce followed, but since July 1, 2025, the 31-year-old has also been looking for a new club. His market value is currently 1 million euros, and like Jović, Rebić has the opportunity to find a new club for a free transfer.
What comes next for both former Eintracht Frankfurt heroes remains to be seen. The football world is excited to see where they will take their next step.
