Festivals in the heart of Frankfurt: SOOPA and Westcoast bring action!
An exciting weekend is in store for Frankfurt, as two festivals start on August 14, 2025: The Sossenheim Open Air (SOOPA) and the Westcoast Festival. As the FNP reports, the SOOPA will be celebrated at Kerbeplatz on Kurmainzer Straße under the motto “Mallorcastyle@SOOPA”. The festival was originally founded as a Corona project, but has now developed into a popular summer event. DJ Oliver Schraml will start the first day with his beats and heat up the party atmosphere.
The main acts at Sossenheim Open Air are none other than Ikke Hipgold, Rumbombe, Caro Winter and Tommy Fieber, all of whom are known for getting the audience in the mood with their rousing performances. On Friday, August 15th, things continue with a “Schlagerstyle@SOOPA” day, where Vanessa Mai and Anna-Maria Zimmermann will perform, among others. Admission starts at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are available from just 39 euros.
Insights into the festival highlights
The beauties of the West Coast Festival, which takes place on the harbor area of the former Griesheim industrial park on Stroofstrasse, are no less impressive. The festival, launched by the project developer Beos, wants to transform the area into an urban district. The West Coast Festival kicks off with urban jazz and rap, with artists like Miss Control, Jennirae, and Alyzah rocking the stage. Italian disco and an open-air cinema with the film “Call Me by Your Name” are planned for Friday, August 15th.
There are numerous activities on offer for festival visitors. On Saturday, August 16th, there will be, among other things, yoga, a football workshop and a wine tasting - the ideal mix of relaxation and enjoyment. Guests can expect over 1,000 attendees at the event, with over 800 tickets already sold. On a lighter note, if the heat of the day is too intense, the West Coast Festival schedule has been adjusted accordingly.
On Sunday, August 17th, festival visitors can also expect free entry to an exciting flea market as well as attractions such as face painting and various food stalls. All of this will certainly increase the joy of young and old this weekend.
Culture and books for 2025
For example, “Nexus” highlights the importance of information networks over the centuries and warns of the danger of disinformation – a topic that is particularly relevant today. Other highlights on the list include “En agosto nos vemos” by Gabriel García Márquez, a previously unpublished novella, and “Cuentos para entender el mundo” by Eloy Moreno, which references famous classic stories and translates them into today.
When it comes to the world of technology, the boundary between virtual reality and everyday life is increasingly blurring. Digital forensics is a buzzword that is becoming increasingly important. This discipline deals with the collection and analysis of digital evidence to maintain its integrity for legal purposes. It is not only important for cybercrime investigations, but also has applications in many other areas of criminal and civil law. The field of digital forensics has developed enormously since the 1980s and shows how important it is to handle data strictly.
The weekend in Frankfurt will not only be a complete success musically and culturally, but also a place for exchange about topics that move our society. When the city blossoms on August 14th, there will be something for everyone - be it on the festival stages, between the pages of new books or in the exciting discussions about digital security.
