Tradition meets entertainment: the Interior Minister's gala inspires enthusiasm in Bad Vilbel!

There was a lot of excitement at the traditional gala of the Hessian Interior Minister in the Police Bistro at the Hessentag. On June 20, 2025, numerous VIP guests gathered in a bistro that was filled to capacity and has served as a “communicative meeting place” for 31 years. Interior Minister Prof. Dr. Roman Poseck (CDU) not only paid homage to the Hessian police, but also emphasized the importance of the connection between the police and the population. “Tonight is a sign of solidarity with the Hessian police,” said Poseck during his speech. This gala is a highlight of the 62nd Hessentag, which will be celebrated in Bad Vilbel until Sunday.

The gala attracted a large number of guests, including Interior State Secretary Martin Rößler, Mayor Sebastian Wysocki and Wetterau District Administrator Jan Weckler as well as numerous members of the Bundestag and state parliament. The presidents of all Hessian police authorities were also represented, including police chiefs from various regions, who ensured a pleasant atmosphere that evening. The support and commitment of the police was a central theme of the evening, and Poseck thanked the organizers and helpers for their tireless efforts.

An amusing show program

What would a gala be without entertainment? The evening's show program offered a colorful mix of dance, acrobatics, comedy and magic, complemented by singing and variety shows. The event was moderated by FFH moderator Johannes Scherer, who created a relaxed atmosphere. The more than two-hour program kept the guests entertained and left nothing to be desired.

The Police Bistro itself remains open to all visitors throughout Hessentag. According to information from the Hessentag program, guests can not only enjoy cool drinks and hearty food, but there are also numerous activities and demonstrations for all age groups. From coffee and cake to sausages and live music, there is everything your heart desires. And the best thing: Admission to all Hessian Police program items is free of charge!

A very special highlight of Hessentag is Police Day, on which, among other things, the ceremonial swearing-in of police candidates takes place. Due to the weather forecast, this will be moved to the “VILCO – Large Hall”. There will also be a presentation on the “Police Square with Police Bistro”.

Hessentag 2025 is more than just a celebration - it is a celebration of home and diversity that brings young and old together. Prime Minister Rhein and Mayor Wysocki both emphasized the importance of the sense of community that this event promotes. And the event offers over 1,500 free events to keep you entertained.

The signs are already green for a successful Hessentag. The police bistro, as one of the central points of contact, offers an excellent opportunity to get to know Hessian police work better.
