Ann Wilson celebrates 75 – rock icon's comeback after cancer!

Ann Wilson, the charismatic lead singer of the rock band Heart, is celebrating her 75th birthday on this special day. Since the early 1970s, she has enchanted fans worldwide with her powerful voice and has thus earned a permanent place in the rock Olympus. But the last few years have been anything but easy for the musician.

In July 2024, Heart's highly anticipated “Royal Flush Tour” in Europe had to be unexpectedly canceled. The cause? Ann Wilson received the devastating diagnosis of cancer. How on Giessener Anzeiger reported, she immediately underwent surgery to remove a malignant tumor, followed by prophylactic chemotherapy. This therapy was an enormous challenge, as Wilson himself described, and brought with it both physical and mental stress. In September 2024, she was finally able to announce on Instagram that she had put the hard time behind her and was feeling better.

Fight against cancer and comeback

Although Ann Wilson was happy to announce that she was on the mend, she spent the rest of the year away from the stage to fully recover. Fans were informed about the postponements via social media and assured that purchased tickets would remain valid for the new dates.

The tour, which began in Las Vegas on February 28, 2025, brought Wilson on stage despite health setbacks. After a fall in which she broke her elbow in three places, she decided to sing in a wheelchair. This decision was not because of the cancer diagnosis, but rather to concentrate on singing and not have to keep my balance.
