What's going on in Ried? This evening, November 2nd, 2025, the mood in the community of Riedstadt is optimistic. The motto of the evening and the entire merger process, “Living faith – sharing life,” suggests that renewal and community are the focus here. Pastor Julia Bokowski is pleased about the more intensive joint activities that will take place from January. This opens a new chapter for communities that want to join together.
Pastor Jürgen Bode takes the parishioners on an encouraging path. He calls on them to bring fears and doubts to God and at the same time to gain courage for the new path together. “We are not losing anything with the merger,” said Pastor Volker Herwig. His words convey a strong feeling of belonging and togetherness: “In fact, we are gaining, especially in diversity.”
Community and diversity in focus
A core theme during the celebrations is the reading from Romans, which says that everyone has different gifts that enrich life together. This is an urgent call for unity and respectful cooperation. Community members are invited to play an active role in this new association. There is a lot of potential for joint activities and new offerings that will further strengthen the community.

Some users are able to access their professional accounts but have difficulty accessing their personal accounts. These challenges illustrate that there is currently ongoing internet unreliability that affects many, whether they work on a PC or smartphone.
The collaborative approach is noticeable in Riedstadt and will be an important aspect for all community members in the coming months - both in real and virtual space.
