On the night of Thursday, November 7th, 2025, a dramatic chase occurred in Kassel that kept the city in suspense. Four 15-year-old teenagers were arrested after a risky getaway while traveling in a suspected stolen Audi A3. According to the reports from FFH, it all started around 8 p.m. on Altenbaunaer Strasse when the driver gave way to the officers.
When the police tried to stop the vehicle with flashing lights and stop signals, the driver fled. The teenagers ran red lights and even turned off their headlights to escape the police. The pursuit ended abruptly on Dennhäuser Street when the driver lost control of the Audi and crashed into a guardrail. A driver who became aware of what was happening was only able to avoid a collision by braking hard.
Escape attempts and arrests
After the accident, the five occupants tried to escape on foot. But the police were quickly on the scene and were able to arrest four of the young people nearby. Another young person was identified later. Fortunately, everyone involved was uninjured. The young men were taken to the police station and then handed over to their parents.
The investigation is ongoing as the vehicle may be stolen. It turned out that the Audi's license plates had previously been stolen from a Hyundai in Süsterfeld-Helleböhn. The entire incident raises questions about the safety and behavior of young people and shows the importance of a quick police response.
