On June 28, 2025, the 2nd Walter Lübcke tournament was held at the TSV Wolfsanger sports facility in Kassel. This event, which commemorates the tragic death of Dr. Walter Lübcke remembers, not only attracted many football-loving spectators, but also delivered exciting games and outstanding performances from six men's teams and five women's teams. A small-field tournament was on the program, which was equally popular with women and men. In the respective finals, KSV Hessen as well as the North Hesse regional team and the Post national team faced each other. The women's final was a real thrill that ended with a dramatic 6:5 in the nine-meter shootout for KSV Hessen after the North Hesse regional selection was already leading 3:1 at halftime. Goal scorers in this final included Angelique Pohl and Svenja Boge for KSV Hessen and Hanna Kuntze for the North Hesse regional team.

Exciting duels and brilliant performances

In the men's final, the Post national team secured the winner's cup with a 1-0 victory over the North Hesse regional team. Bruno Luis scored the decisive goal in the penultimate minute of the game, which left the spectators in suspense. A look at the preliminary round results shows that the teams had already impressively demonstrated their skills in advance.
