Hutten, the small district of Schlüchtern with around 830 inhabitants, is a busy place! Last weekend the traditional swimming pool festival took place, which this year attracted many visitors. The day began with a solemn service led by Pastor Marieke Richber, during which the altar was set up near the children's paddling pool. Here the community could relax together and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere. Afterwards, the festivities continued seamlessly, which were excellently organized by the dedicated members of the Huttener Swimming Pool Association.

Under the leadership of Thomas Fehl, Markus Juling and Sven Krischke, the club members had prepared a lot. Tents, tables and benches were quickly set up and the grill was in full operation. There were a variety of culinary delights, including the ever-popular bratwursts, gyros and French fries. And on such a hot day, the cool drinks were particularly in demand. Anyone who wanted to treat themselves to refreshment could swim in the clear water of the swimming pool, which is fed from the Heiligenborn spring.

New support club room and praise from the mayor

Another highlight of the festival was the presentation of the new support association room, which was created after the demolition of an old complex in the lower area of ​​the swimming pool area. The space now accommodates the club's equipment, including benches, umbrellas and a barbecue, making it easier to organize future events. Mayor Matthias Möller (independent) didn't miss the opportunity to attend the festival. He praised the great response and the excellent work of the support association and handed over a check to the board to support further projects.

The Huttener outdoor pool has an eventful history that dates back to 1924, when it was inaugurated as part of a sports festival. The support association, which was founded in 1996, has been actively committed to maintaining and maintaining the swimming pool ever since. After various renovations and renovations that lasted until 2022, the pool has developed into a popular leisure spot that not only offers aqua jogging and Zumba courses, but also enables many social projects. In addition to the upcoming celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the swimming pool, which will take place on July 6th and 7th, 2024, the community is looking forward to the future.
