However, the jump onto the list of the super rich is clearly surpassed by the Heraeus family from Hanau, which ranks in 31st place. The estimated assets of 7.1 billion euros are an increase compared to 6.9 billion euros in 2024. The Heraeus Group, chaired by Jürgen Heraeus from 1983 to 2000, now employs 15,200 people at 100 locations in 40 countries and has sales of 29.4 billion euros. This shows that successful family businesses also come from Germany.

Lutz Mario Helmig from Grebenhain is in 96th place with assets of 2.8 billion euros. However, the richest German remains Dieter Schwarz, the founder of Lidl, with an impressive 46.5 billion euros. After him come the major BMW shareholders Susanne Klatten and Stefan Quandt, who are valued at 36.1 billion euros.

Let's take a look at the commitments of rich entrepreneurs. Henning Strauss not only shows himself to be a successful businessman, but also an honorary citizen of Bad Orb, where he invests, among other things, in the spa park and a luxury resort. Investment has also been made in education, with a private school being planned. He is also politically active and is committed to opposing the planned wind farm in the Bad Orber Forest, which is generating great interest in the region.
