On Thursday night there was a serious traffic accident on state road 3195 between Hettersroth and Birstein in the Vogelsberg district. At around 2 a.m., a 39-year-old driver lost control of his Audi, which then left the road, rolled over several times and finally landed in a field. Both the driver and his 20-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to a clinic immediately. The driver was transported by rescue helicopter due to his serious injuries. The Audi, which was considered a total loss after the accident, had significant damage, estimated to be worth around 7,000 euros. A safety barrier and a guide post were also affected. The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident and are appealing to witnesses to call the Schlüchtern police station on 06661 96100, as osthessen-news.de reports.
