Serious accident on L3079: Two injuries after a dramatic rollover!

On Monday evening, October 6th, there was a serious traffic accident on the L3079 country road between Fulda and Neuhof-Giesel. A 20-year-old man from Neuhof and his 19-year-old passenger were on the road with her Mazda when she dropped to the right of the road due to unknown cause. The vehicle overturned and landed on the roof in a ditch. Both occupants had to be brought to surrounding hospitals with serious injuries, as the police headquarters in East Hesse reports in a report. The investigation is still underway about the exact circumstances of the accident, and all details are still unclear.

The emergency was reported at around 11 p.m., and 45 emergency services from the Neuhof and Neuhof-Giesel fire brigades were immediately on site. When they arrived, the firefighters ensured that the accident site was secured and supported the emergency services. Three ambulances and two emergency vehicles were also used. The co -driver had to be freed from the vehicle by first aiders.

Seriously injured and property damage

Like the reporting of East Hesse-News shows that the cause of the accident was a so far unexplained situation. Since the Mazda suffered a total of around 5,000 euros, this could be a significant burden on the occupants. The vehicle was badly damaged and is no longer traveling.

This tragedy once again highlights how dangerous country roads can be. The German Road Safety Council (DVR) has launched its “Drive Safely!” campaign. already made aware of the dangers. Every year, many accidents occur on country roads, which often have more serious consequences than in urban areas or on motorways. In fact, rural roads contribute to one in four traffic accidents, while over 58 percent of fatal traffic accidents occur there. According to DVR statistics, around 22,000 people are seriously injured every year.

Attentive driving is required

The tragedy of this situation reminds us of how important it is to behave particularly carefully when driving on country roads, which often lead through rural areas and offer attractive views. With a good hand in terms of driving style and a watchful view of the street, you can reduce the risk of such bad incidents. Therefore, the DVR appeals to all drivers: be responsible and pay attention to the dangers lurking on the streets.

The terrible events of last Monday remind us all of the importance of road safety. Our community's condolences go out to those injured who are now on the road to recovery.
