Traditional change: younger generation takes over the mill festival!

The 25th Feldatal Mühlenfest is just around the corner: On July 6th, the small community of Stumpertenrod, which has around 350 inhabitants, becomes the scene of a hustle and bustle. The popular event, which was launched in 1998, has developed into a real artisan paradise over the years, which now attracts around 100 exhibitors. So you are pleased that the festival attracts not only the domestic population, but also numerous visitors from the Rhein-Main area and beyond, such as the Oberhessische Zeitung reported.

This year, however, there is a special reason for attention. Holger and Simone Loch as well as Bernd and Karin Weitzel, the last "organizers of the very beginning", withdraw after the festival to the "mill festival pension". They look back at 24 unforgettable mill festivals and many anecdotes, and they always emphasize the importance of teamwork and community spirit in the organization of this event.

variety and tradition

The mill festival offers its visitors a variety of skills and traditional customs. With the motto "Experience craft", the festival visitors can look forward to handmade works of art. The little guests are also taken care of: the Ichmael's circus barn will be available, while the so -called "bulky waste pilots" and the Rhöner environmental mobile will be on site.

The festival is supplemented by a varied musical program. Visitors can look forward to the sounds of Bänkelsenders represented by the Knuts Hut Club, as well as the performances by Jörg and Roswitha on the barrel organ. The accordionist Miguel Kaiser will also create a good atmosphere.

a festival for the whole family

For all bookworms there is an extensive range of reading material, from current to antiquarian editions. In addition, dipping, knick -knacks, linen and dishes are offered for sale. A very special artist - "Jan im Happiness" from Glücksblumenland - will also present his skills.

A look at the weather shows that the mill festival is usually accompanied by sunny weather, with the exception of a short thunderstorm that occurred only once throughout the event. So visitors can look forward to an all -round successful festival! In this way, the entire team cordially invites the population to stop by on July 6th in Stumpertenrod and celebrate together.

By the way, if you are interested in traditional craft, you should also take a look at the German mill day, which opens around 650 historical mills all over Germany every year. Events and festivals around the mill are an important opportunity to immerse yourself in the old miller trade, and complement the already diverse main landscape in Germany, as on Deutschee-müehlen.de
