PBC Bad Wildungen conquers the Star of Sports” in Hesse!
There is good news in the Hessian sports landscape today: The 1st PBC Bad Wildungen took first place in the “Stars of Sports” club competition. The club was awarded the “Big Star in Silver” and prize money of 2,500 euros. This reports HNA.
The PBC's project, entitled “Every Child's Kö reloaded” (Jekö reloaded), convinced the jury with the sustainability of its youth work and international networking. These ideas have the potential to continue to enrich the sporting landscape in the future.
A recipe for success for young people
The honor took place in the magnificent Biebrich Castle and was organized by a cooperative banking group, the state sports association and the state government. The second-placed club, TSV Obergeis, received 1,500 euros for its project “With violence prevention on the back and fairness on the chest,” while the Klein-Krotzenburg gymnastics association took third place with 1,000 euros for “Young start of the TKK – your voice is heard.”
- 1. Platz: 1. PBC Bad Wildungen – 2.500 Euro
- 2. Platz: TSV Obergeis – 1.500 Euro
- 3. Platz: Turnerschaft Klein-Krotzenburg – 1.000 Euro
- Förderpreise: SC Neu-Isenburg, VfL Altenstadt, VSG Darmstadt – je 500 Euro
Of a total of 114 clubs that applied in Hesse, 21 were in the Waldeck-Frankenberger Bank division. The jury particularly emphasized that the PBC sets up mobile billiard tables in schools and trains children and young people in tournament organization and social media. Such commitment is not only commendable, but also future-oriented.
A club on the rise
With around 120 members, the club is enjoying increasing popularity. This also has an impact on the premises: The PBC is planning to expand its clubhouse in order to offer even more children the opportunity to get to know the sport of billiards. Tom-Luca Harms, a promising young player at the club, is already a three-time Hesse champion and is preparing for the upcoming German championships.
The next big date is already coming up: the federal decision will take place in Berlin in January 2026. Andreas Klauser, the club's chairman, said that they didn't want to raise expectations for this event too high, as the club was still at the beginning of its development.
This shows once again how important it is to give young people something through sport and at the same time to promote a community. Sport is more than just competition – it creates connections and develops talent.
Overall, the PBC Bad Wildungen is a shining example of how sport can be further developed for young people through commitment and creativity.
