After-work market in Schotten: Festival of the districts delights everyone!
Things will come alive again in Scotland on Friday 11th July when the annual After-work market opens its doors in the heart of the old town. Under the motto “Festival of the Districts”, the organizers invite all citizens to stroll, taste and enjoy from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. An exciting program awaits everyone who finds their way to the old town hall and the surrounding squares in front of the church and Europaplatz.
Visitors can look forward to a colorful mix of video sequences and picture exhibitions in the old town hall. Several clubs and groups from the region, such as the rural women from Eschenrod and various cultures from Götzen, bring life and variety. Music lovers can look forward to the performance of the mixed choir from the Rainrod choir and the band “Spätschicht”. There are also rousing performances of African and oriental dances.
Enjoyment and community
There are lots of activities, especially for the younger ones Participation offers of the FaJuSo association are a highlight. Not to forget the home-brewed beer from the BRAUmit brewing and cultural association, which was very well received at the last beer garden event in Alteburgpark - an impressive 450 liters of beer were served!
The event is organized by the “Friends and Supporters of Music in Scotland”, who have been strengthening the community for years. In addition to the festival on July 11th, other events are planned for the coming months. The Art Community Day will take place on September 6th, including dancing, singing and live music as well as an event after-work market to get you in the mood on September 5th. Anyone who feels like going to an after-work market today can experience the “summer feeling” on August 8th.
A look beyond the city limits
The Schotten after-work markets are part of a larger tradition of festivals that take place in the region and in cities such as Frankfurt. Visit Frankfurt reports that such events make an important contribution to strengthening the sense of community and highlighting the culture and enjoyment of the city. Folk festivals combine tradition with modern zeitgeist and offer a wide spectrum, from historical markets to modern festivals.
Whether in Schotten or Frankfurt – celebrating together and involving the community are the focus. A visit to the after-work market on Friday is not only a treat for the palate and ears, but also an opportunity to exchange ideas with neighbors and friends and be part of a lively culture.
