The first cinema day of the Waldsiedlung Friends' Association took place on Sunday in the village community center and attracted over 130 guests. Colorfully decorated with lights and with smiles on their faces, the many families were happy about the free entry and the snacks on offer, which made the event a special experience. Popular films such as “The Gruffalo”, a short film for the little ones that was told with a lot of love, as well as the turbulent “Lilo & Stitch” and the adventurous “The Fantastic Journey of Dr. Dolittle” were shown. The positive response from those present was overwhelming.
The range of snacks was varied: from fresh popcorn and nachos to drinks and a new slush ice cream made from a freshly purchased machine. Those with a sweet tooth were also catered for – cake and coffee were available. Chairman Nils Diehl spoke of a successful start and the encouraging feedback from visitors. Treasurer Dominik Goebel also expressed his satisfaction with the innovations, which were well received, while secretary Luisa Beck emphasized the joy of the families being together.
Outlook on upcoming events
The next cinema screening is scheduled for December 7th and the films will be announced soon. Before that, a free craft course on lanterns will take place on November 9th, for which registration is required via the homepage. Those interested are also invited to the St. Martin's parade on November 11th, which takes place in collaboration with the Zwergenhaus daycare center and the Waldsiedlung Protestant church.

The big “League of Legends” event
On November 2nd, a big spectacle for fans of “League of Legends” was broadcast in cinemas across Europe. The live broadcast of the World Cup final took place directly from London and attracted gamers and viewers from over 30 countries to hundreds of cinemas. The spectators were able to experience not only the exciting finale, but also the opening ceremony, which created the right atmosphere. Riot Games and Piece of Magic Entertainment organized this event, which also included exclusive events in cities such as Milan, Berlin, Madrid and Barcelona.
The 2025 League of Legends Pro League (LPL) is also around the corner, with the first split of the thirteenth season starting on January 12, 2025. Sixteen teams compete in four groups, with games taking place in a best-of-five format. The top two teams in each group qualify for the playoffs. The league promises some exciting matches that will be played in the LPL stadium in Shanghai and in the renovated home base in Shenzhen.
