Wiesbaden Biennale 2025: Art festival invites you to creative discovery!

The anticipation for the Wiesbaden Biennale 2025 is increasing. From September 12th to 21st, the city awaits a unique arts festival under the motto “Make Space!” stands. The Biennale invites artistic exploration and puts invisible spaces in the spotlight. The aim is to ask questions about access and repression and thereby make marginalized voices heard, as wiesbaden.de reports.

A special highlight is the new cultural format “make it” from Hessischer Rundfunk, which focuses on the creation of this biennale. The first episode will be broadcast on Tuesday, September 16th at 8:15 p.m. on hr- Fernsehen. The VJ reports show how the artists Silvia Gioberti and Shahrzad Rahmani from Guerrilla Architects are transforming the city and what creative processes look like in our everyday lives [hr.de].

Artistic projects in focus

The Biennale includes an exciting program that takes place in various locations around the city. The colonnade of the Hessian State Theater becomes the setting for the interactive installation “Colored resurrection – colors that don’t fade” by Sasapin Siriwanij, which can be seen daily at 5 p.m. from September 12th to 20th. There will also be a workshop on the opening day that starts at 2 p.m.

Another highlight is the radio play walk “Birdsong from elsewhere – The Flight of Quassi and Folivi”, inspired by the colonial past and designed by Barby Asante and Memory Biwa. Here participants can experience the city in a completely new way.

The exhibition “Nursing the Empire” by Donna Miranda, which focuses on the experiences of Filipino nurses, takes place in the Wilhelm-Arcade and at Warmer Damm. The topic of disability culture is also enriched with the performance “Valley of the Shadows – Rituals of Resistance” by Touretteshero.

Opening ceremony and exciting events

The opening event of the Biennale begins on September 12th at 2 p.m. with the workshop “COLORED RESURRECT”. There will also be a performative festival opening ritual at 5 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., visitors can expect the premiere of “Monique erupts” as well as a concert entitled “Vegn Paradoksn fun Tsayt”.

The festival offers a wealth of daily events, ranging from performances, exhibitions to film screenings. Creative minds and art lovers can expect a varied program that pushes the boundaries of traditional theater structures and uses the city as a playing area. With a predominantly English-language program, the Wiesbaden Biennale will be a real cultural center where everyone gets their money's worth, rheinmainkultur.de.

So the Wiesbaden Biennale 2025 is in the starting blocks, and it's time to turn our attention to the invisible spaces that are waiting to be discovered in this city. Be there when the culture-interested community comes together and creates space for new perspectives and exciting encounters.
