A welcome sign of solidarity is being sent in the city of Wiesbaden. On the occasion of the new town twinning with Kamianets-Podilskyj, the city is planning to visit forty Ukrainian children and young people aged 7 to 14 to enable them to have a relaxing time away from the war. Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende supports the project, which is scheduled to take place from July 18th to 27th, 2025. Many of the children involved have had stressful experiences and long for carefree days, far away from loss and constant threats. Kamjanets-Podilskyj, Wiesbaden's new twin city, is known for its impressive old town and friendly population. The town twinning was officially sealed on September 11, 2023 as part of a delegation visit from the Ukrainian city to Wiesbaden's town hall. Over the last 30 years, the two cities have repeatedly supported each other and organized numerous aid transports to promote local projects in Ukraine.
