AT Rodenkirchen: Exciting duel ends with a clear defeat against Ammerland!
There was a lot on offer in the volleyball district class last weekend, not least in the top game, which didn't go as desired for AT Rodenkirchen. The team lost 3-0 to VSG Ammerland III. The sets ended at 20:25, 23:25 and 23:25. Despite the clear result, player-coach Thomas Geil had praise for his team, which competed with a full complement and showed a committed performance. Nevertheless, the disappointment over the lost opportunity to move to the top of the table remains palpable. VSG Ammerland III remains the front runner in the table.
But as is well known, the settlement takes place at the end. In a second game on the same day, Rodenkirchen got a convincing win against VG Ostfriesland Süd II. With 3-0 (25:22, 25:20, 25:22) the team managed to regain self-confidence and increase their points total to 16 from nine games. The fight for second place in the table remains exciting, as Hage is close on their heels with 15 points from six games.
Superior performances and lineup changes
In an earlier match, Rodenkirchen was able to consolidate their lead in the table with a clear 3-0 win against VfL Löningen II. In this game the team showed clear superiority and won the sets with 25:13, 25:20 and 25:17. Player-coach Geil was also able to give fewer players more playing time. One example is Fabian von Lienen, who was able to gain valuable experience in two out of three sets. Sportgasm reports from the successful formation and the performance of his players, who controlled the game well.
The AT Rodenkirchen line-up also included well-known names such as Manuel Joachimsthaler, Michael Gulich, Marlo Wiemer and Julian Schwuchow. A remarkable team spirit and overcoming the challenges in the games gave the spectators hope that the next matches would be even more successful.
Next challenges and hope for help
The next matchday on February 7th against STV Wilhelmshaven II could be decisive. Should TSG Burhave provide support against Hage on Saturday, the table situation for Rodenkirchen could improve significantly. NWZonline informed also about the challenges that AT Rodenkirchen expects in the next few weeks.
The situation in the league remains exciting and fans can already look forward to upcoming matches. It will be particularly difficult for the Elsflether TB, as the team recently lost 3-0 against TuS Bloherfelde III and is now in second to last place. Will the race for the top places in the table become even more heated in the next few weeks? Time will tell!
