The Lower Saxony police highlights that the number of alcohol-related road accidents has been reduced in recent years, but the number of fatal accidents remains a constant issue in road safety work.

The 2024 traffic accident statistics confirm a positive overall direction: The number of registered accidents in Lower Saxony fell by 1.8% to 209,001, and the number of traffic fatalities reached 347, the lowest level in over 70 years.
