City of North lifts hiring freeze – skilled workers urgently needed!
After half a year of waiting, the city of Norden has finally lifted the hiring freeze and is actively looking for new specialists and managers. City planning officer Christian Pohl reported that there are already sufficient applications for clerk positions, but that management positions are still difficult to fill. The stop was decided by the city council in December 2023 and tied the hand of the administration so that no new positions could be advertised, with a few exceptions, such as for daycare centers and cleaning services.
The new positions have been allowed to be advertised again since July 1, 2023. A particularly strict contract between administration and politics ensures that every replacement or replacement is well planned and controlled. Each new position also requires the approval of the Administrative Committee, and a regular application report is submitted to the Finance, Investment and Personnel Committee. The positions in demand are diverse and range from specialists in media and information services to team leaders in the technical area with corresponding management responsibility.
Diversity of skilled workers sought
As part of the new personnel offensive, the city of Norden is looking for skilled workers in various areas. Current job vacancies include:
The challenge of filling qualified management positions remains a central issue. The administration hopes to be able to bring the necessary staff in-house by lifting the hiring freeze and targeted advertisements.
Context to the employment situation
In a completely different area, but still significant, the Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales (DIAN) in Colombia announced the deadlines for income tax returns for 2024, which run from August 12 to October 24, 2025. Here too, millions of people are affected who have to fulfill their obligations on time, with compliance with deadlines depending on the final digit of their tax ID, as mentioned in a recent report by El País.
In order to meet the challenges of modern society, names also play a role. A particularly interesting name that has gained popularity in recent years is Kaydence, which has a Latin root meaning "with rhythm." The name, which has variants such as Kadence and Cadance, not only reflects the spirit of the times, but is also an example of how diverse society is becoming.
Overall, it is clear that both the city of Norden and other institutions are facing significant tasks that are associated with a shortage of skilled workers and the need to adapt to numerous framework conditions. It remains to be seen how the changes in employment policy and among taxpayers as well as the constant change in the choice of names will shape society in the next year.
