Eintracht Braunschweig: Frenkert is the first new signing of the season!

Eintracht Braunschweig has taken a first step into the new season by signing Lukas Frenkert. The 24-year-old central defender is moving from SC Preußen Münster on a free transfer and is expected in Braunschweig on July 1st. Frenkert, who is 1.90 meters tall, will have a contract until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend it. Last season he scored three goals and prepared two more in 25 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga. Sports director Benjamin Kessel is enthusiastic about his abilities and says that in Frenkert the club has gained a valuable newcomer who is very motivated to contribute to the team's success.

There are currently only two tall strikers available in the Eintracht squad: Levante Szabo and Sebastian Polter. This has prompted the club to sign another player. Lukas Schimmeler, whose contract with 1. FC Nürnberg expires on June 30th, is considered a potential candidate for the striker position. Kessel has already set his sights on Scheiber and could sign him soon to strengthen Eintracht's offensive line-up. With Rayan Philippe expected to leave the club, the additional budget for a new player could be put to good use.

New arrivals and departures in the 2nd Bundesliga

The transfer situation in the 2nd Bundesliga is in full swing. According to the current statistics from Transfermarkt, the current season's transfer balance shows interesting numbers. In total there were 325 departures with transfer income of 130.17 million euros and 338 additions that cost the clubs 69.19 million euros. The average expenditure per club is around 3.84 million euros. The average age of the newcomers is quite young at 21.4 years, which speaks for future-oriented squad planning.

Schleicher is described as flexible and experienced, which makes him an attractive candidate for Eintracht Braunschweig. However, the final decision about his signing could depend on the presentation of the new coach, who is likely to bring his own ideas and desired players with him. This means that fans are eagerly waiting to see what further decisions will be made in squad planning.

Eintracht has definitely set out to strengthen its team and will set important foundations for the new season in the coming weeks. With Frenkert as the first new addition, the foundation has been laid - it now remains to be seen whether Schmelzer will soon follow.
