Chamber concert Limitless”: An unforgettable evening in Bargfeld!

Yesterday evening, the manor house in Bargfeld was the scene of a musical delight: the second chamber concert of the Cell Summer Concerts 2025, entitled “Limitless”, took place in front of a sold-out hall. The strings and piano sounds of Robert Schumann, César Franck and Johannes Brahms made for an unforgettable evening.

The artists performed with a lot of passion and skill: clarinetist Sharon Kam, pianist Séverine Kim and cellist Valentino Worlitzsch presented a well-thought-out program that introduced the listeners to the various facets of chamber music. Particularly noteworthy were Schumann's “Fantasy Pieces Op. 73” for clarinet and piano, which were rich in expressiveness and dynamism from the first to the last movement. The first movement sounded tender and melancholic, while the clarinet acted as a storyteller in the second movement. The third movement impressed with powerful and modern sounds that captivated the audience.

Intense dialogues and harmonious sounds

This was followed by the “Sonata for cello and piano in A major” by César Franck. Originally composed for piano and violin, this piece was impressively reinterpreted for cello, which moved in passionate dialogue with the piano. The dialogue between the instruments led the listeners into a world full of emotions and intensity.

The conclusion was Brahms' Trio for clarinet, cello and piano in A minor, op. 114. This late work shows the harmonic depth in the conversations between the instruments and was strongly inspired by Richard Mühlfeld. The timbres in Brahms’ compositions were masterfully worked out and provided an emotional highlight of the evening.

enthusiasm of the audience

The audience was not surprised by the quality of the concert and honored the performance with enthusiastic applause and a warm encore. The evening once again showed how enriching chamber music can be and that shared music speaks a language that transcends all boundaries.

The second chamber concert of the Cell Summer Concerts impressively demonstrated that music has the ability to bring people together and provide unforgettable experiences. Anyone who had the opportunity to be there will certainly remember this evening for a long time.
