Traffic chaos in Celle: Massive construction sites cause closures!

There's a lot to do in the Celle district at the moment. On October 31, 2025, several construction sites will be active, causing a lot of disruption to the traffic situation. In some areas, the work is pulling out all the stops, and this not only leads to detours, but also to delays that should be better planned for.

Let's start with the B3 between Wolthausen and Offen: The construction site here will shut down the entire road until November 28th. But don't panic, rescue and emergency vehicles as well as feeders for buses, pedestrians and cyclists can pass. Diversions via routes 11 and 22 are signposted and should be observed. The current situation on the B3 simply cannot be underestimated - the risk of slipping and visibility is also present, so keep your eyes open!

Further construction sites at a glance

Things are also getting tight in Bergen: There is a narrowing of the road on Celler Straße due to construction work. Unfortunately, cyclists have to use the footpath in this section, which could involve a small change.

And that's not all. Intensive road expansion work is underway on Beethoven and Mozart Street in Bergen as part of urban development funding. Beethovenstrasse will remain closed until further notice as roads, water pipes and medium and low voltage lines are being replaced. Completion is not planned until the end of 2026 - so patient citizens are required!

Another large project concerns the Örtze Bridge in Hermannsburg. The dismantling of the old bridge began on October 7th, and the new, wider bridge should be completed by the end of the year. Crossing the Örtze will not be possible for around eight weeks, which will certainly pose challenges for residents.

Not to be forgotten is the Maschweg in Westercelle, where the bridge over the Neue-Aue-Bach is receiving a new surface layer, or the K65 between Jeversen and Thören, which has been completely closed since October 20th. Work is underway here to replace a damaged pipeline with a diversion via Wietze.

Construction site management and traffic adjustments

The renovated “Heese” street in Celle has been partially closed since September 29th. This makes it necessary to have a one-way system between house numbers 31 and 41, which makes getting through a little more difficult.

And there are a number of construction sites beyond that: renovation work is taking place on the K46, K47 and K49, with single-lane traffic routing, which will last until October. In addition, the renovation of the “Schmiedestrasse” bus stop on Mittelstrasse is coming to an end – accessibility is the big goal here.

The renovation of Breite Straße, on the other hand, will last until 2026. Everything from supply lines to street lighting to house connection lines will be replaced. So what does this mean for drivers and residents in Celle? Plans and patience are required now.

It is advisable for anyone driving through the district to find out about the current traffic situation. Because one thing is certain: construction sites come and go, but traffic jams remain - that's the way things go.
