New coach Fabio Bartolone brings a breath of fresh air to PSV Neustrelitz!

The PSV Neustrelitz volleyball players are at the beginning of a new era: Fabio Bartolone, an experienced coach from Italy, is taking over the helm of the Bundesliga team. As NDR reports, the 60-year-old will succeed Stefan Meingast, who was only on the sidelines for one season. Bartolone, born in Catania and with over 30 years of experience in the volleyball world, brings an impressive CV that includes playing experience in the Italian second division as well as various coaching positions in Italy, Austria and Germany.

Even before his official introduction, the new coach was excited about the opportunity to train the team. “It is an honor to work in the ‘Temple of Volleyball’,” he expressed his enthusiasm. He also emphasized how much he was looking forward to getting to know the city of Neustrelitz and its residents. This positive attitude will certainly please the club's fans, who will soon be able to see Bartolone in action.

Home games to start the season

Spectators can look forward to an exciting start to the season, as Neustrelitz will start the new Bundesliga season with three home games in a row. The first opponents in the Strelitzhalle are:

  • Bocholt am 13. September
  • Mondorf am 20. September
  • Schüttorf am 27. September

The PSV management is very proud of Bartolone's commitment and emphasizes that with him they were able to bring a passionate athlete and experienced coach on board. “We are convinced that he will advance our team with his know-how and his enthusiasm for volleyball,” said a statement.

A trainer with extensive experience

With a degree in sports science and a coaching career that has spanned decades, Bartolone has a knack for motivating and developing teams. His previous coaching position for the TV Cloppenburg women's team in Germany probably also gave him a certain insight into German volleyball culture. These experiences together with his international perspective make him a valuable member of the coaching staff in Neustrelitz.

Overall, the signing of Fabio Bartolone is a step that has the potential to bring a breath of fresh air into the ranks of Neustrelitz volleyball players. Anticipation for the upcoming games is growing and fans can't wait to see the new coach make his debut in charge in September. If everything goes well, Neustrelitz could soon be popular again!
