Cuxhaven BasCats sweep BTB Royals off the pitch 97:75!

An exciting basketball game took place yesterday between the BTB Royals Oldenburg and the Cuxhaven BasCats. The BasCats triumphed with an impressive final score of 97:75. The Cuxhaven team thus secured a sensational away win, which came about thanks to a fantastic team performance. CNV Media reports on a close encounter until the last minute of the game, when the BasCats really turned up the heat in the last quarter and literally overwhelmed their opponents with a score of 21:8.

The BasCats' starting five, consisting of Deon McDuffie, Franck Kone, Andreas Hasenkamm, Lukas Dawidowski and Kyron Kelly, showed a remarkable performance. These five players led the team, combining for 92 of the 97 points, with Kyron Kelly topping the list with a whopping 26 points and Franck Kone contributing 24 points. All players in the starting five achieved double-digit points, which demonstrates the strength of the team.

A big step in the table

After the game, coach Dennis Tiedemann highlighted the excellent teamwork and emphasized that we need to continue building on this victory. The BasCats can now take another step towards the top of the table in the next catch-up game, as the current table leader TSG Westerstede II lost in the same round of the game, so a win could take them to within two points of the top. Deon McDuffie scored the final score with a three-pointer, increasing the cheering circle of fans with every point.

Another interesting point during the game was the return of Jannes Koeppen after a break from basketball. Claude Din-Penda traveled with the team but was not yet eligible to play, which underlines the positive team spirit and the large number of active players.
