Successful fire brigade exam: 49 new squad leaders for Cuxhaven!

In the last few weeks, the Schiffdorf Fire Department Technical Center (FTZ) has once again shown how important its work is for the region. Comprehensive performance tests for future squad leaders took place here on two weekends, from June 20th to 22nd and from June 27th to 29th. This year, a total of 49 dedicated fire brigade members from the North, South, East and the city of Cuxhaven took part in the training. The test, which was carried out under the direction of Thorsten Söhle and Lars Gramatzke, placed high demands on the participants because they had to prove themselves as squad leaders in three demanding operational scenarios. So reported cnv-medien.de.

Organizing the training is a huge challenge, but the preparations made in the previous months have paid off. The infrastructural requirements and the training area could be used optimally. The participants not only had to learn theory, but also had to demonstrate in practice that they could act in emergency situations. In nine practical test scenarios, which were carried out by a dedicated team of trainers made up of eight members from the Cuxhaven district, all 49 candidates were able to demonstrate their skills and passed the test with flying colors.

Short-term successes and outlook

The trainers were very satisfied, which is not surprising given the demanding nature of the training. By switching to group strength, training not only becomes more efficient, but also promotes team spirit, which is of utmost importance in the fire department. Due to the high demand for qualified staff, further courses are already being planned, both in the FTZ Cadenberge and in the FTZ Schiffdorf. And it looks like the region's fire departments have made a real stroke of luck - all participants can now look forward to receiving a course certificate.

But that's not all! On May 28, 2022, an exam for squad man training part 1 took place at the FTZ Schiffdorf, in which three candidates (two women and one man) successfully completed. Here the basic knowledge of being a fire brigade member was imparted - an important basis for all future operations. During the squad training, which began on May 2nd, 2022, the candidates had to prove themselves after a written, practical and oral exam in order to take the next step in their career. This training will be continued and further deepened in the fire departments themselves, such as ff-schiffdorf.de explained.

A job with responsibility and perspectives

The fire department not only offers exciting challenges, but also in-depth training that gives fire department members the knowledge they need for operations. Whether it's fighting fires or rescuing people in distress, the training is comprehensive. This includes basics such as teamwork, dealing with technology and emergency situations as well as important first aid measures. Athletic fitness, teamwork and the ability to work under pressure are crucial. Anyone who would like to take the leap into the fire service can look forward to many options, including the entire range from classic training in the middle service to leadership roles in the senior or higher service training.de.

The fire department is more than just a workplace – it is a place for teamwork and lifesaving. With new squad leaders and highly trained personnel, the region's fire departments are ready to act actively and competently in an emergency. It's good that so many people are willing to work for the common good!
