Helgoland – A very special place

Heligoland, also known as Deät Lun, is the only German offshore island in the North Sea and has a fascinating past. It has existed for around 8,000 years and, with an area of just 1 km² and a population of around 1,500 islanders, offers peace and seclusion that attracts many annual guests. The neighboring island of Dune was added after a storm surge in 1721. The island landscape, characterized by federal sandstone, is around 250 million years old. Helgoland is suitable for a varied holiday not only because of its nature, but also as a place steeped in history, as Helgoland has been part of the Pinneberg district in Schleswig-Holstein since October 1, 1932.

You can enjoy the journey to the island wonderfully on the catamaran. If you spend a few relaxing hours on the water, you can look forward to a walk across the island, which delights with its unique flora and fauna. helgoland.de highlights the various recreational opportunities the island offers.
