In Sulingen, a small town in the Diepholz district, a residential building was the target of gunfire. On Monday evening, a metal ball about a centimeter in size broke through the roller shutter and the outer pane of a kitchen window. Another incident that concerned the police in Diepholz occurred on December 17, 2024 on a parking deck on Lange Straße. How Press portal reports, several witnesses heard loud banging noises and a heated argument. During the subsequent investigation, the police found cartridge cases from a blank gun. A 42-year-old man said he got into an argument with a 17-year-old, during which the younger man allegedly fired a blank gun. The 17-year-old initially fled, but later turned himself in to the police and was arrested without a weapon being found on him.
The less than pleasant motive for this dispute was the dispute over an arranged marriage for the 42-year-old's 16-year-old daughter. Fortunately, there were no injuries here either. The relevant authorities have been informed and the police have opened a criminal investigation into threats and the possible use of firearms.
These incidents clearly show that a worrying development is taking place in the region. The police are required to ensure the safety of citizens and track down the perpetrators in order to avoid such dangerous situations in the future.
