The “Adventure City of Varel” initiative has launched a new photo competition that puts the historical and modern beauty of Varel city center in the spotlight. Under the title “Varel city center – then and now”, all citizens are invited to submit their very personal snapshots from days gone by as well as current photos of the city. This is reported by the NWZonline.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, August 5th. The submitted works will then be publicly exhibited in August and can also be admired on the new Adventure City website from the end of August. Some selected motifs will be presented in large format in downtown Varel, while other images will be shown on digital information screens.
With passion
It is important for all participants that they own the copyright and usage rights to the photos they submit and give their consent to the use of the images for advertising purposes for the adventure city of Varel. The residents' commitment to such competitions is high, which was already clear in advance through the successes of previous competitions. The photo competition “Our Varel”, which is going into the second round, also had a great response, as did the City of Varel communicates.
This competition focuses on Varel events, architecture and public spaces so that the hustle and bustle and diversity of the city can be represented. The high level of willingness to participate shows how attached people are to their city. An illustrated book will even be created for the best photos, with the winning photos also being incorporated into the city's public relations work.
Show creativity
Each person is allowed to submit a maximum of five photos, and entry requirements are clearly listed on the city's website. Mayor Gerd-Christian Wagner was enthusiastic about the quality of the images submitted from the first round and hopes for similar success in the current round.
