Mirja Aenne Gilster becomes district champion in jumping in Hooksiel!

Last Sunday the time had finally come: the sun shone over the tournament grounds of the Hooksiel riding and driving club when Mirja Aenne Gilster from RG Dangast won the district championship title in the individual jumping. On her horse Cuesta de Oro she showed what she can do and impressively demonstrated her skills. [nwzonline] reports that this event was part of a larger dressage and show jumping tournament that attracted large crowds.

The competition for the title of the district championship in individual class A jumping was divided into two tests: the style jumping A* on Saturday and the jumping A** on Sunday. Gilster scored 7.90 points in the A* style jumping, leaving behind Julia Lietzmann from RuF Hooksiel, who took second place with 7.70 points. In the following A** competition, Gilster had a drop, but was still able to position himself in ninth place with 4.00 points and a time of 56.60 seconds. Sarah Marks from Tammingaburg was the shining winner of this competition with a flawless ride and a time of 49.71 seconds.

A successful tournament

The tournament organizers described the event as a complete success, thanks to the support of numerous volunteers. The weather also cooperated, although there was a brief rain shower on Saturday evening. The Jump & Drive, which took place on Saturday and attracted many guests, also created a lively atmosphere. Another highlight was the first tournament appearance of the lead rein children on Sunday, while the parents and relatives enjoyed the atmosphere to the fullest.

The successes at the tournament reflect the high level of equestrian sport in the region. Alena Sophie Wächtler from RG Dangast secured fourth place in jumping A**, while Jantje Gerdes-Fürup from TG Bad Zwischenahn won the S* dressage in the dressage tests. Charlotte Dassler-Fisch proved her class as the best Frisian woman in this discipline and took fourth place. In the other dressage tests, Clara Paschertz and Jasmin Feiner shone with their victories in the M** and M* dressage.

Backgrounds and rankings

The successes and placings of riders like Gilster are not only a sign of personal achievements, but also part of important rankings in German equestrian sport. These rankings, which are created by [pferd-aktuell], are based on points, weighted by examination level and take into account successes between October 1st and September 30th of the following year.

In the Dessur, the well-known rider Isabell Werth will return to the top in 2024, while Michael Jung in eventing and Richard Vogel in jumping are the current leaders. These rankings impressively demonstrate how dynamic and competitive equestrian sport is and highlight the hard work and commitment of the riders and their teams.
