200 people dance for peace: Festival of Cultures in Gifhorn!

What a colorful spectacle the visitors experienced in the Citizens' Shooting Hall in Gifhorn! At the “The World Dances” event, around 200 participants from a wide variety of nationalities and cultures came together to find harmony through dance and music. The event was organized by the Gifhorn District Integration Office, which uses this initiative to set an example for cultural diversity and its importance. The dances presented on stage ranged from traditional to modern performances, allowing for exchanges without words. Dancing as a unifying element impressively showed how culture can be experienced beyond language. [WAZ].

The diversity of participants was particularly remarkable: the International Women's drum group, children from the Kalem association, the Syrian-Iraqi-Ezidi and African community as well as the Indonesian association contributed to the colorful mix of the program. Dance groups such as Inside and Gute Mood were also there. A spectacular solo performance came from Marizieh Zanjani from Iran, who thrilled the audience with her talent. In addition, children from the drum group from the Ehra-Lessien shared accommodation provided additional entertainment - a clear message of joy and togetherness.

Community spirit and support

The concept wasn't just limited to performances: there was also a free take-away buffet, for which the groups donated international delicacies. The community spirit that was at the forefront of “The World Dances” is evident here. In addition, all performances were carried out without fees, which further underlined the character of the event. The “Gifhorn Helps” association actively supported the development and thus ensured further positive connections within the community.

A nice highlight was the spontaneous fundraising campaign from the audience, in which an impressive 221.50 euros were collected for the young drum group from Ehra-Lessien. This sum will be used to purchase additional instruments - a real benefit for the musical development of children.

On the way to cultural integration

Jenny Reissig, the initiator of the project, emphasized in her words the central role of music as a bridge to international understanding and peace. It becomes clear that events like these not only promote cultural exchange, but also support the personal development of young people. Current funding programs in the area of cultural integration, such as the program “Culture makes you strong. Alliances for education”, show how important cultural education is for children and young people, especially for those with little access to such offers Donation Pot.

The initiative for cultural integration in Germany is also based on strengthening a society that is characterized by migration and globalization. By promoting cultural participation and discussions about values, it is possible to create a respectful and tolerant way of dealing with one another Minister of State for Culture.

After such a successful day, the wish remains to repeat the event next year. The children were so impressed that they sang on the club bus on the way back and are already looking forward to the next festival! A strong sign that diversity and integration can be lived - through music, dance and a togetherness that connects young and old.
