On the evening of last Saturday, January 17th, a disturbing incident occurred in Grußendorf, specifically on Stüder Straße in the Sassenburg municipality, which called the police to the scene. A 50-year-old man is said to have threatened his neighbors with a firearm, which ultimately led to an extensive police operation. The emergency call was made around 9 p.m. by a 37-year-old neighbor who, along with a 34-year-old friend, had gotten into an argument with the accused. The situation was assessed as a “concrete danger,” which is why several patrol cars were dispatched to the scene, as WAZ reports.
When the officers arrived, they found the 50-year-old sleeping. Apparently the man had consumed too much alcohol - a test showed around two per thousand. In order to clarify what had happened and to ensure that there was no longer any danger, the drunken man was taken into custody until the following morning. During a search of his apartment, the police discovered a blank gun. It remains unclear whether this was actually used to threaten the two men. The investigation into the threat is still ongoing, informs WAZ.

The accused had previously been in front of the 25-year-old's apartment door and verbally attacked him.
