Police on duty: seriously injured people and burglaries in Emsland!

The Grafschaft Bentheim police station published some interesting blue light reports on September 21, 2025. Among other things, a break-in was reported in Haren, in which a GPS system was stolen from a garage. In Geeste there was a break-in in a shed on Wilhelmstrasse, during which a bicycle was stolen. Unfortunately, such incidents are not uncommon in the region. But the road traffic also caused excitement again.

In Papenburg, four vehicles got into an accident on the L51, which fortunately did not result in any serious injuries. The collision between two Pedelecs ended less happily, in which one person was seriously injured. Local police are continuing to investigate and have said they will keep the public updated on any new developments. In addition, a young person is looking for a young person in Nordhorn after a traffic accident because a 72-year-old fell. The police advise that information be sent directly to them in order to help solve the cases, as nordnews.de also notes.

Incidents and calls for caution

Another serious incident occurred in Laar, where a 17-year-old was seriously injured in a traffic accident. The accident occurred during an overtaking maneuver when a 38-year-old driver of a Kia EV6 failed to notice the young man on his moped. He had to be taken to hospital. These and similar accidents show once again how important it is to be vigilant on the roads, especially in the region that is regularly faced with such events.

In Nordhorn, a 60-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in another traffic accident when she was hit by a Hyundai i20. This report has also encouraged the police to call for caution and consideration in road traffic, because the number of traffic accidents in the region remains worryingly high, as figures from the Federal Statistical Office show.

Everyday crime and burglaries

But it wasn't just the traffic that made negative headlines; The police authorities are also concerned with everyday crime. In Papenburg, for example, a robbery was committed in a cell phone store. Three masked perpetrators threatened the employees and escaped with valuable electronic devices. The Papenburg police are asking for information from the public, especially from witnesses who may be able to provide video or image material.

There are also currently several burglaries in Emsland, where high-value items as well as real estate and vehicles were stolen in Lingen and Haren, among others. The local police are active in solving these crimes and point out that tips are accepted at any time.
