Burglars are trending
Unfortunately, a break-in like the one in Wülfingen is not an isolated case. According to Statista, there were around 119,000 residential burglaries in Germany in 2023, with around 77,800 classified as violent entry. This represents the highest level since 2019. Urban areas are particularly affected. In regions such as Bremen, Berlin and Hamburg, the risk of burglary is above average.
The psychological consequences of break-ins should also not be underestimated. In addition to the material damage, many of those affected suffer from an impaired sense of security and psychological stress. The clearance rate for residential burglaries was also low in 2023 at just 14.9%. Therefore, it is in the interest of the entire community to be vigilant and report any disturbing activity immediately.
Although such incidents are common, it is important to emphasize that perpetrators continue to adapt, even in modern society. The police are doing everything they can to catch the perpetrators, and with the support of citizens, another crime may be prevented. Keep your eyes open and actively help keep your neighborhood safe!
