The 2025 market summer in Holzminden started with a brilliant concert by the band “Attixx” on the market square. On July 6, 2025, hundreds of music enthusiasts gathered to see the band celebrate their tenth anniversary live. Isabell Adam from city marketing emphasized the belief that such events can make Holzminden livable and connect people with musical diversity. Inga Schaper, authorized representative of Stadtmarketing GmbH, also warmly welcomed the guests and declared the market square to be a meeting place for young and old.
The four-piece rock cover band from Höxter, which derives its name from the English word “attic” (attic), where the band held its first rehearsals, presented a musical fireworks display. The band members Dirk Friederich (bass), Thomas Neuendorf (drums), Kevin Büldt (vocals, guitar) and Kevin Flentje (guitar) only played cover songs from the 60s to 90s and had real classics with them, including “Fortunate Son” and “Westerland”, which visibly carried the audience away.
Casual atmosphere and local delights
The market square was filled to capacity, visitors not only enjoyed the music, but also the delicacies of the local gastronomy. International specialties and refreshing drinks contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. However, there was a small downer: A nearby shisha bar caused some concertgoers to be unhappy with loud music, but this did not dampen the joy of the live performance. After almost three hours filled with several encores, the band said goodbye to the delight of their audience.
The festival event has even more to offer: the next concert evening is already around the corner! On Saturday, July 12th, “Tone Fish” and Stefan Gliwitzki will perform on the market square from 7:30 p.m. This series of atmospheric concert evenings in July and another weekend in August promises to further conquer the hearts of music lovers.
For anyone who doesn't want to miss these concerts, it's worth taking a look at the events in the area. A wide range of events will be offered until September, waiting to be discovered.
