B 191: Dannenberg goes into a new construction phase - changes in traffic from today!

Dannenberg, Deutschland - In Dannenberg, the residents and road users are required to adapt to the upcoming changes in road traffic. The construction work on federal road 191 has caused excitement since the end of March 2023, and now it is the third construction phase. This begins on June 19, 2025 and will again bring some diversions and adjustments. According to luechow-dannenberg.de this phase should be from the crossing B 191/L 256 to the middle of the center Crossing B 191 / Riemannstrasse.

If you come from Uelzen, you can drive the B 191 to the knot B 191 / B 216, but the traffic from Dömitz is diverted via the Breeser Weg intersection and the Jeetzelallee. The same applies to the diversions from Dannenberg. For the road users from Gartow, diversions are also available that lead to the B 191 via the L 256 and the cemetery path. Trucks over 7.5 tons from Gartow are diverted via the K 29 to the B 191 to bypass the construction site. These diversions are signposted for everyone, so that nobody lands on the wrong track.

A look at the construction phases

The current construction work is divided into two construction phases. The first construction phase began before the intersection B 191/Friedhofsweg/Breese in the march and ended in front of the intersection B 191/L 256 (Gartower Straße). This intersection is expected to be partially passable in the second construction phase, which has a certain relief for the residents.

The second construction phase, on the other hand, extends from the intersection L 256 to the junction to the B 216, among other things the intersection B 191/Prabstorfer Weg is to be redesigned and the bike path is renewed. In this phase, as in the first, inner -city diversions via Breeser Weg and Jeetzelallee, is expected. Construction time and diversions are clearly defined for all road users in advance in order to make traffic as smooth as possible

Financial framework conditions

The costs for this extensive construction work amount to a proud 4.65 million euros, which are borne by both the city of Dannenberg and by the Federal Republic of Germany. The construction work is expected to be completed by August 29, 2023 - but weather -related delays are not excluded. The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport has already asked for understanding the inconveniences of the construction sites. For the last construction phase, separate press information will be published in good time so that everyone remains well informed. Until then, in case of doubt, it is time to take a detour and pay good attention to the signposted paths!
