Road safety on highways

With a look at road safety, an analysis shows UDV that despite the high safety standards on motorways, serious accidents like this can occur frequently. According to current statistics, the number of injuries and accidents is particularly high in truck accidents, especially in longitudinal traffic collisions. The main causes of accidents include improper speeds and insufficient safety distance. In addition, men are the culprits in these categories in around 70 percent of cases.

Accidents on federal motorways, such as the A1, are rarer overall, but they still often occur under difficult conditions, particularly in the dark and when there is insufficient distance to the vehicle in front. So concerns about road safety remain, and incidents like this highlight the need for constant vigilance on the roads.

The police hope for further information and remain active on site in order to clarify all relevant details of the accident and to prevent future incidents if possible.
