Late summer brings a wealth of events for young and old in Lower Saxony that will make the heart of every leisure lover beat faster. From August 15 to 17, 2025, visitors can choose between a variety of activities that provide fun and excitement.
This is particularly popular Fairy tale festival in the Lüneburger Heide wildlife park on Sunday, August 17, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Here the little guests can look forward to an exciting fairy tale quiz, a children's book reading and a magic school. With an entry price of 16 euros for adults and 14 euros for children (3 to 12 years), it's great value fun for the family. There is also a family ticket for families for 58 euros, and costumes are expressly encouraged. A photo with the mascot Willi at the entrance rounds off the fairytale day.
Drama and sports
Sports enthusiasts shouldn't miss the weekend. The event takes place on August 16th and 17th Premium Cup 2025 in the EmslandArena in Lingen. Top-class handball teams such as SG Flensburg-Handewitt, FC Barcelona and Füchse Berlin compete against each other. The semi-finals begin on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. before the winner is decided in the grand final on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Ticket prices start at 19 euros in advance; traveling by bike or public transport is recommended.
There is also a reason for football fans to be happy: On Saturday, August 16th, SV Hemelingen will play against VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB Cup, the first DFB Cup game for the Hemelinger team. Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. and tickets are available from just 15 euros.
Celebrations and running events
The Anniversary celebration for 850 years of Badbergen promises to be another highlight. From August 22nd to 24th, visitors can expect a varied program with live music, a reception by the partner congregations and even an ecumenical service. On Friday from 7 p.m. the celebration will begin with the Antenne Niedersachsen Band and DJ Nico, while on Sunday comedian Benni Stark will provide additional entertainment.
The Ever fun run on August 23rd is aimed at all running enthusiasts. Whether it's a Bambini run or the challenging distance of 10 miles, there's something for everyone here. The event is supported by MTV Jever e.V. and registrations are possible until August 21st.
