On Thursday evening, a 55-year-old employee who was responsible for collecting parking fees was attacked by an unknown perpetrator. He stepped out from between two trucks and threatened the cashier with an unidentified object, although it remains unclear whether it was a weapon. Fortunately, the employee was uninjured, but handed the perpetrator a three-figure amount before he fled. Current crime situation in Lower Saxony
These incidents add to a worrying trend in Lower Saxony. The current police crime statistics show an increase in registered crimes of 5.6 percent to a total of 553,202 cases in 2023.
