State Parliament North 2025: A festival for the whole family in Wüsting!
In a few days, more precisely from August 22nd to 25th, the North State Parliament will open its doors in Wüsting (Oldenburg district). Over 70,000 visitors are expected to experience one of the largest agricultural and leisure trade fairs in the region. Over 600 exhibitors will present their products and services on an area of around 130,000 square meters. The event promises to be not only informative, but also rich in variety with animal shows, numerous hands-on activities and an entertaining show program.
The fair is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers entry prices of 15 euros for adults, 8 euros for children and 38 euros for families. By the way, if you book online you can sometimes benefit from cheaper prices. Travel is taken care of: free parking spaces are available at the exhibition center, and Wüsting can be reached every hour with the Nordwestbahn. NWZonline reports.
The dedicated team in the background
A considerable part of the success of the North State Parliament is based on the tireless efforts of helpers who put up to 6,000 hours of work into the preparation. About a third of this goes to construction, which takes place daily from August 18th to 21st from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Around 70 people help on Friday and Monday, while around 90 helpers are on duty at the weekend. The committed supporters also include Friso Brink, a mechanical engineer who is taking part for the tenth time and who is sacrificing his vacation for the trade fair, as well as Selina Haanstra, a student and niece of managing director Yvonne Urban, who has helped with the event for five years.
The team is not only active on site during the trade fair, but also prepares well in advance. The first temporary help began in mid-July. After the trade fair, there will be additional dismantling work that will begin on Monday, August 25th and last until August 28th. The exhibition grounds are released at the discretion of the exhibition management. This is a sign of the thorough planning required to pull off such a large event.
The trade fair industry is booming
The North State Parliaments not only attract visitors, but also join the positive trend in the German trade fair industry. According to AUMA, the industry experienced unexpected growth in 2024 with 322 trade fairs. The number of visitors increased by 3.2 percent and the occupied stand space increased by 7.2 percent. This shows that trade fairs are very popular as a platform for cultural and business exchange, which also applies to the northern state parliaments.
It will be exciting to see what new impulses this year's trade fair will provide. One thing is already clear: the North State Parliaments are a real highlight in the event calendar and not only offer space for informative discussions, but also for fun and entertainment.
