A new chapter for the old City Club Hotel in Oldenburg: From 2026, the hotel will shine under a new flag as “Vienna House by Wyndham”. The existing Aspire Hotel in Oldenburg will be extensively renovated, with renovation work scheduled to begin in February 2026 and carried out on a wing-by-floor basis while the hotel remains open. This was announced by hotel manager David Nakhlah, who firmly promises that guests will not be disturbed during the work.
The renovation project is tough: owner Holger Kruse is planning to invest a seven-figure sum to modernize the hotel. The renovation includes the renewal of all 88 double rooms, the hallways and the refresh of the public areas such as the breakfast room, lobby and sanitary facilities. In addition, the sauna area will be rebuilt, while the swimming pool will be retained. The bathrooms, which were recently renovated, remain essentially unchanged.
Modernization and digital services
Another focus of the renovation is the modernization of the design, which is raised to contemporary standards. Sustainability plays a central role here. The renovation will include resource-saving materials and energy-efficient technologies. Digital solutions such as contactless check-in, a mobile keycard system and intelligent room control are also on the agenda. These innovations were also discussed in the context of the Aspire Hotel Group, which plans to increase its number from the current twelve hotels to 20 by 2027.
In addition, the Aspire Acara Oldenburg will benefit from the planned optimizations, which will also be implemented in the coming months. With the planned reopening of the Vienna House by Wyndham there will also be a launch event that will certainly generate excitement and anticipation.
