Last Saturday, a serious accident occurred on Bremer Straße in the municipality of Hude, which once again made the headlines. At around 6:30 p.m., a 24-year-old motorcyclist from Georgsmarienhütte was hit by a small car. According to NWZonline, the 40-year-old driver from Hamburg overlooked the motorcyclist while she was making a turning maneuver. The impact was so severe that the motorcyclist lost control and fell into the ditch, where he remained lying.

The emergency services that were immediately alerted, including the police and fire departments from Altmoorhausen and Hude, had a challenging task. Fire department spokeswoman Sabrina Köhrmann reported that the injured person was difficult to access, which complicated the rescue operation. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was rescued using a special shovel stretcher and taken to hospital. Fortunately, the driver and her two passengers, a 9-year-old and a 67-year-old, were uninjured.

Traffic disruptions and property damage

The accident site was secured by firefighters, while Bremer Strasse was closed to traffic until 8 p.m. The damage to the vehicles is significant: The total damage is estimated at around 14,000 euros, with both the motorcycle and the car being a total loss.
